Give blood to save lives during the Easter holidays (with photo)
**********************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

April and May are traditionally slow months for blood donation, as students take their examinations during the period and many people go on overseas vacations. To ensure a stable blood supply, the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) appeals to members of the public to donate blood during the long Easter holidays. An Easter Egg Badge from the 2014 Blood Donation Badge collection will be presented, while stocks last, to those who give blood successfully between April 12 and 27. For the locations and service hours of donor centres during the Easter holidays, please call the BTS hotline at 2710 1234 or visit its website at www.ha.org.hk/rcbts .

In addition, to strengthen blood collection, the mobile collection vehicle is serving the public outside Tai Po Civic Centre (near the entrance to the car park), On Pong Road, Tai Po, from 11.30am to 6pm from April 7 to 17 (except Sunday). Anyone who successfully donates at the vehicle will receive a souvenir while stocks last.

At present, 1 000 donors are required daily to meet the demand from clinical use.
