Hong Kong Observatory Open Day this weekend (with photos)

     The 2014 Hong Kong Observatory Open Day will take place on March 29 and 30 (Saturday and Sunday).

     This year, the open day is themed "Weather and Climate: Engaging the Youth". Visitors to the open day can watch the weather report on the spot as hosted by the Observatory's scientific officers, as well as participate in game booths, eco-tours and other activities. The public will also have the  chance to take photographs with Dr Tin, the Observatory Mascot.

     Members of the public are welcome to join the event to learn more about how the Observatory applies science and technology in serving the public. Details of the open day are as follows:

Venue: Hong Kong Observatory Headquarters
      (No. 134A Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui)

Entry Time:
March 29 (Saturday)          12.30pm to 4.30pm
March 30 (Sunday)            10.00am to 4.30pm

     To publicise and promote a set of special stamps under the theme "Weather Phenomena" issued by Hongkong Post for the first time (see photos), a sales booth will be set up by Hongkong Post during the open day for members of the public to purchase the stamp products. The Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, Mr Shun Chi-ming, and the Postmaster General, Mrs Jessie Ting, will also jointly host an autograph session during the open day.
