Re-appointments to Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (Financial Institutions) Review Tribunal

     In accordance with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (Financial Institutions) Ordinance, the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, has re-appointed three panel members of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (Financial Institutions) Review Tribunal for a three-year term with effect from April 1, 2014.

     The three re-appointed panel members are as follows:

Mr Wilson Fung Ying-wai
Professor Lam Kit-chun
Mr Paul Shieh Wing-tai

     The Tribunal was established to review decisions specified under the Ordinance and made by any relevant authority including the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Securities and Futures Commission, the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance, and the Customs and Excise Department.

     Specified decisions include any decision of the relevant authority to impose supervisory sanctions on a regulated entity in the respective financial sector, and any decision of the Commissioner of Customs and Excise on licensing matters in respect of money service operators.

     The above appointments were gazetted today (March 21).
