Appointment to Occupational Retirement Schemes Appeal Board

     The Government today (February 28) announced that the Financial Secretary, in exercise of the power under the Occupational Retirement Schemes Ordinance (ORSO) delegated by the Chief Executive, has appointed Ms Wendy Ng Wan-yee as a new panel member of the Occupational Retirement Schemes Appeal Board (ORSAB). Ms Ng's term will run from today until September 30, 2014. The Government also announced that the appointment of Mr Raymond Wong Kwai-sang ceased today.

     Welcoming the new appointed panel member, a government spokesman said, "Ms Ng is a certified public accountant. She is currently a member of the Appeal Panel (Estate Agents Ordinance), the Advisory Committee on the Regulation of the Property Management Industry and the Board of Review (Inland Revenue Ordinance)."

     The spokesman added, "We believe that Ms Ng, together with other panel members, will assist the Chairman, Mr Paul Shieh Wing-tai, to continue upholding the impartiality of the ORSAB."

     The ORSAB was established to hear appeals against decisions by the Registrar of Occupational Retirement Schemes as specified in the ORSO.

     The membership of the ORSAB from February 28, 2014, to September 30, 2014, is as follows:
