Police work showcased at Careers Expo (with photos)

     The Police showcased the multi-faceted and professional nature of their work under the theme "Join the Police, Reach Full Potential, Serve the Community" at the four-day Education and Careers Expo 2014 starting today (February 13). The latest recruitment information is also available at the booth.

     Officers from Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau, Narcotics Bureau, Weapon Training Division and Police Negotiation Cadre briefed visitors on their areas of work and introduced their equipment at different sessions held today.

     Demonstration sessions of various Police units are as follows:

February 14 (Friday):
10am to 2.30pm ¡V Traffic / Identification Bureau
2.30pm to 7pm ¡V Emergency Unit / Force Abseiling Cadre

February 15 (Saturday):
10am to 2.30pm ¡V Police Dog Unit
2.30pm to 7pm ¡V Airport Security Unit / Force Search Unit

February 16 (Sunday):
10am to 2.30pm ¡V Crime Prevention Bureau / Marine
2.30pm to 6pm ¡V Counter Terrorism Response Unit

     During the expo, officers from the Police Recruitment Division will process applications for police constable and probationary inspector on site. They will conduct initial screening and arrange for the written test. The Auxiliary Police officers will also be present to handle auxiliary police recruitment-related enquiries and receive applications.
 
     Members of the public are welcome to visit the Police booth at the expo held in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 10am to 7pm on February 14 and 15, and from 10am to 6pm on February 16. Admission is free.

     To tie in with the expo, the Police simultaneously launch a ¡§Recruitment Express¡¨ campaign. Those who wish to join the Force can apply in person at 13/F, Arsenal House, Police Headquarters, 1 Arsenal Street, Wan Chai on or before February 28 from 10 am to 6 pm daily. They are reminded to bring along proof of their academic qualifications (original and duplicate).

     For the financial year 2014-15, the Force's recruitment target is some 1 300, comprising 230 Probationary Inspectors and 1 110 Recruit Police Constables.  The recruitment target of Auxiliary Recruit Police Constables is 320.
