Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Security, Mr Lai Tung-kwok, at a media session before he leads a delegation of government officials to depart for Guangzhou and Shenzhen today (February 10):
Reporter: The Philippines again insisted that they would not apologise. What is the next step? Will the Government impose a new deadline?
Secretary for Security: We will continue to discuss with the Philippine authorities. And, of course, we do not rule out (the possibility) to take any possible actions so that agreements can be reached for the four demands.
Reporter: When do you think is the right time to step up the sanctions?
Secretary for Security: I don't think it is the appropriate time for me to disclose what we intend or what we are going to do.
