FEHD recovers sublet New Year fair stall
****************************************

The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) has terminated the licence agreement of a Lunar New Year (LNY) fair stall in Fa Hui Park, Sham Shui Po, and recovered the stall after the licensee was found to sublet the stall. The person concerned will be prohibited from bidding any stall in any fair that the FEHD may organise next year.

An FEHD spokesman said today (January 27), "According to the licence agreement signed with licensees of LNY fair stalls, a licensee should not assign/sublet/transfer his stall. Anyone who is found breaching the licence agreement may have his agreement terminated. He shall immediately vacate the licence area and return his stall to the department. The bid price will not be refunded. The licensee will also be prohibited from bidding any stall in fairs that the FEHD may organise in future.

"After days of investigation and having gathered sufficient evidence, the FEHD recovered the stall concerned from the licensee in accordance with the licence agreement."

The spokesman has called on licensees of LNY fair stalls to strictly abide by the licence agreement. People should also refrain from renting LNY fair stalls from licensees who contravene the licence agreement so as to avoid sustaining unnecessary financial loss.

During the LNY fair period, the FEHD will conduct daily inspection to LNY fair stalls and take stringent enforcement action against irregularities in relation to assigning/subletting/transferring of the stalls. People can report such irregularities by calling FEHD hotline 2868 0000.
