Tenders invited for "Road Improvement Works in West Kowloon Reclamation Development"

     The Highways Department today (January 24) invited tenders for "Road Improvement Works in West Kowloon Reclamation Development" (Contract No. HY/2013/17).

     The works are expected to commence in July this year and will take about 32 months to complete. The works will mainly comprise:

- construction of an elevated single lane carriageway connecting Hoi Po Road to the West Kowloon Highway northbound;

- construction of an elevated single lane carriageway connecting the elevated Nga Cheung Road to the Western Harbour Crossing toll plaza;

- construction of an at-grade single lane carriageway connecting the West Kowloon Highway southbound to Nga Cheung Road;

- improvement works at Canton Road, including the three junctions with Austin Road/Austin Road West, Wui Cheung Road, and Jordan Road/Ferry Street; and

- civil and road works, geotechnical works, electrical and mechanical works, ground investigation works, modification works for existing structures, drainage and utility works, and landscaping works associated with the above works.

     Tender submissions should be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box situated in the lobby of the Public Entrance on the Ground Floor, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong. Submission of tenders will be closed at noon on March 7 (Friday).

     The Highways Department has appointed Parsons Brinckerhoff (Asia) Limited to design and supervise the construction works. Interested contractors can obtain the tender forms and other particulars from the office of Parsons Brinckerhoff (Asia) Limited at 7/F, One Kowloon, 1 Wang Yuen Street, Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong.
