********************************************************

The Hong Kong Central Library (HKCL) of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, which has been open since 2001, reached a milestone this month with its 60 millionth admission.

The lucky reader, Ms Cheung Ka-po, a third-year student of Hong Kong Shue Yan University, was presented with a souvenir by the Chief Librarian (HKCL and Extension Activities) of the Hong Kong Public Libraries (HKPL), Ms Rochelle Lau.

A frequent visitor to the HKCL, Ms Cheung was on her way to research for materials for a project. She was thrilled when told she was making the 60 millionth visit to the HKCL.

A university student studying business administration, Ms Cheung often uses various library facilities for learning, especially the HKPL's e-resources. She is greatly impressed with the library's vast variety of e-databases and e-books for free public use, and is especially interested in the Safari Business Books Online, ebrary Academic Complete and Road to IELTS services as she is going to take the International English Language Testing System exam next year.

Readers can access various business e-databases in the library such as Business Source Complete, Factiva.com, INFOBANK, OneSource (Global Business Browser) and Passport. For information on the HKPL's e-resources, which offer the convenience and fun of reading anywhere and anytime, please visit the HKPL's website at www.hkpl.gov.hk/english/ext_act/ext_act_pub/ext_act_pub_ln/2013/9/01.html . User education sessions on the HKPL's e-resources are also regularly held at the HKCL. Enquiries can be made at 2921 0222 or by email to hkcl_ref@lcsd.gov.hk.
