Special traffic arrangements on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon

     Police will implement the following special traffic arrangements this Sunday (December 1) to facilitate seven public events held on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon respectively.

(I)

     The following road closure and traffic diversion will be implemented between 2am and noon:

A. Road closure

- Hung Hom Bypass between Hung Hom Road and Salisbury Road;
- Southbound Princess Margaret Road Link between Metropolis Drive and Hung Hom Bypass;
- Westbound Salisbury Road between Chatham Road South and Cheong Wan Road;
- Salisbury Road Underpass;
- The third and fourth lanes of westbound Salisbury Road between Nathan Road and Middle Road; and
- The fourth fifth lanes of eastbound Salisbury Road between Hankow Road and Nathan Road.

B. Traffic diversion

- Traffic along southbound Hung Hom Road heading for Tsim Sha Tsui will be diverted via Hung Hom Bypass, an unnamed slip road, Cheong Wan Road, southbound Chatham Road South and westbound Salisbury Road;
- Traffic along westbound Salisbury Road heading for Tsim Sha Tsui will be diverted via the unnamed slip road outside International Mail Centre, northbound Science Museum Road, westbound Mody Road, southbound Chatham Road South and westbound Salisbury Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Salisbury Road (near Nathan Road) heading for Hung Hom will be diverted via northbound Chatham Road South, eastbound Cheong Wan Road, northbound On Wan Road, eastbound Cheong Wan Road, Metropolis Drive, roundabout, Metropolis Drive, northbound Cheong Tung Road South, Hung Lai Road and northbound Hung Hom South Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Salisbury Road (near Nikko Hotel) heading for Hung Hom will be diverted via northbound Hong Chong Road, U-turn slip road, southbound Hong Chong Road, slip road, northbound On Wan Road, eastbound Cheong Wan Road, Metropolis Drive, roundabout, Metropoils Drive, northbound Cheong Tung Road South, Hung Lai Road and northbound Hung Hom South Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Metropolis Drive cannot turn right to southbound Princess Margaret Road Link and diverted to northbound Princess Margaret Road Link;
- Traffic along southbound Princess Margaret Road Link will be diverted to westbound Metropolis Drive; and
- Traffic along eastbound Salisbury Road heading for westbound Salisbury Road cannot turn right to the U-turn slip road near International Mail Centre.

(II)

     The following road closure and traffic diversion will be implemented between 6am and 11.30am:

A. Road closure

- Yiu Sing Street; and
- Eastbound Lung Wo Road.

B. Traffic diversion

- Traffic along southbound Man Yiu Street cannot turn left to eastbound Yiu Sing Street;
- Traffic along southbound Man Yiu Street cannot turn left to eastbound Lung Wo Street; and
- Traffic along eastbound Man Cheung Street cannot enter eastbound Lung Wo Street.

(III)

     The following roads will be intermittently closed by phases between 11.30am and 6pm:

- Southbound Cheung Sha Wan Road between Cheung Sha Wan Playground and Wong Chuk Street;
- Northbound Cheung Sha Wan Road between Wong Chuk Street and Boundary Street;
- Southbound Nathan Road between Boundary Street and Jordan Road;
- Westbound Jordan Road between Nathan Road and Canton Road; and
- Southbound Canton Road between Jordan Road and Salisbury Road.

(IV)

     Two public processions will depart at 11.30am and 2pm respectively from Cheung Sha Wan Road Playground to Salisbury Road outside Hong Kong Cultural Centre via southbound Cheung Sha Wan Road, northbound Cheung Sha Wan Road (southward), southbound Nathan Road, westbound Jordan Road and southbound Canton Road.

     Participants will use the offside traffic lane along the route, while the nearside traffic lane will be maintained for motorists.

(V)

     A public procession will depart at 2.30pm from Southorn Playground to the Government House east gate via westbound Hennessy Road, westbound Queensway, Queensway southern pavement (westward), Garden Road western pavement (southward), Lower Albert Road northern pavement (westward) and Upper Albert Road (southward). Intermittent road closure along the above route will be implemented.

(VI)

     Another public procession will depart at 4pm from Great George Street pedestrian precinct to Keswick Street via eastbound Yee Wo Street, then U-turn at Causeway Road near Tung Lo Wan Road, heading for westbound Causeway Road and westbound Leighton Road. Intermittent road closure along the above route will be implemented.

     Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
