Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Transport and Housing, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, after the Construction Industry Council Conference Luncheon today (November 29):
Reporter: What is the level of rise in terms of ... and how are you going to deal with such application?
Secretary for Transport and Housing: As I said, the Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) has submitted an application for fare increase. It is not for me to speak on the proposal. I think it's up to the KMB to explain to the community. But as far as the Government is concerned, of course, once we have received the application, we'll look at it. We have a set of criteria which we use to evaluate any application from franchised bus operators. So we'll continue to apply those criteria to the application.
