Hongkong Post today (September 12) announced details of the Special Stamps Issuing Programme 2014 and the 2014 Local Standing Order Service (LSOS).

The 2014 special stamp issues feature many themes, with stamps that are kaleidoscopes reflecting the world in which we live. The diverse themes and attractive stamp designs of this year's special stamps offer something fascinating for everyone.

The "2014 Hong Kong Definitive Stamps", featuring the picturesque landscapes of the Hong Kong Global Geopark of China, are undoubtedly among of the highlights of the year and should not be missed. In addition, stamp issues such as "International Day of Families", "Heartwarming Stamps" with the new themes of birthdays and newborns and "Christmas Stamps III" will add a touch of love and joy to everyday life. The "Chinese Dinosaurs" stamps will take us back to the era when giants trod Chinese soil, whereas the "Weather Phenomena" stamps will focus on the way that weather conditions continue to make their mark. Art lovers should not miss the "Hong Kong Museums Collection - Paintings by Mr. WU Guanzhong" and "Cantonese Opera Costumes" stamps, which will highlight the masterpieces of Mr Wu Guanzhong and the costumes of the indigenous performing art form respectively. For dedicated philatelists looking for themes relating to Chinese culture and heritage, "Year of the Horse", as the third set of special stamps of the fourth Lunar New Year Animal Series, and "China Danxia", as part of the World Heritage in China Series, will be the ones to watch out for. Last but not the least, the "Hong Kong, China - Malaysia Joint Issue on Local Food" will be truly unmissable, regardless of your gastronomic preferences.

Advance orders for the Programme may be placed through Hongkong Post's LSOS from today onwards. Those who do so from today to October 18 are eligible to join an incentive scheme and receive fabulous gifts. Customers using the Stamp OnNet online ordering service will enjoy extra rewards as well.
