EMSD urges public to suspend use of 15 models of Siemens dishwashers
*********************************************************

The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department today (August 30) urged the public to suspend use of 15 models of Siemens dishwashers with specific batch numbers and contact the supplier, BSH Home Appliances Limited, for free repair service.

The supplier found that an electrical component of the dishwashers may overheat and cause fire.

The dishwashers were sold in Hong Kong between 1999 and 2005. The supplier will offer free repair service to affected consumers, and will post notices announcing the free repair service in newspapers today and tomorrow (August 31).

The model and batch numbers are listed in the Annex. Consumers may also visit BSH Home Appliances Limited's website (www.dishcareaction.com.hk) to check if their dishwashers are affected. For enquiries, please call the company's customer service hotline at 2103 7700 between 9am and 1pm and between 2pm and 6pm from Mondays to Saturdays.
