Registration under Concessionary Scheme for Small and Medium Enterprises on Postage Rebate starts on September 2
************************************************************

Hongkong Post today (August 29) reminded eligible local Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to register under the Concessionary Scheme for Small and Medium Enterprises on Postage Rebate during the period from September 2 (Monday) to December 14 (Saturday).

All companies in Hong Kong that meet the Government's definition of an SME, i.e. with less than 50 employees in Hong Kong for a non-manufacturing business and less than 100 employees for a manufacturing business, with a valid Business Registration Certificate are eligible for a 5 per cent rebate for purchases of locally issued stamp sheets and mint stamps as well as postage spending incurred for local and outbound postings during the period from October 1 to December 31, subject to a rebate cap of $150 for each eligible SME.

Eligible SMEs wishing to receive the rebate are required to register under the Concessionary Scheme. Online registration via the Hongkong Post website (www.hongkongpost.hk) is encouraged and will commence on September 2. Registration forms can also be downloaded from the Hongkong Post website or obtained from all Post Offices from the same date.

Hongkong Post announced earlier the implementation of the Concessionary Scheme to provide time-limited relief to local SMEs upon the adjustment of the principal postage rates from October 1. Details of the Concessionary Scheme have been posted at the Hongkong Post website. SMEs may also approach post office counter staff or call the hotlines at 2921 6020 or 2921 2222 for enquiries.
