Young dancers to spread anti-drug messages in "Dance Peer Platform 2013"

     Fourteen dance teams from non-governmental organisations, youth outreaching social work teams, a Counselling Centre for Psychotropic Substance Abusers and a drug treatment and rehabilitation centre will perform in the anti-drug show "Dance Peer Platform 2013" to be held this Saturday (August 3) to showcase their dance talent. Members of the public are invited to join the event. Admission is free.

     Jointly organised by the Narcotics Division of the Security Bureau, the Action Committee Against Narcotics and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Drug InfoCentre (DIC), the event aims to encourage young people to develop healthy hobbies, live a healthy lifestyle and stay away from drugs.

     The performing teams comprise "Make it serious" from the North District Youth Outreaching Social Work Team of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong; "Charming Crew", "Real Cool" and "V-Flame" from the Hong Kong Children and Youth Services; "Rhythm" from the Society for the Aid and Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers; "Remix Girls" from the Sai Kung and Wong Tai Sin Outreaching Social Work Team of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups; "Smiley Kizz" from the Youth Support Scheme of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups; "Positive Venus" from the Caritas District Youth Outreaching Social Work Team - Tuen Mun; "Nuclear Crew" from the Caritas HUGS Centre; "Non Stop" from the Caritas District Youth Outreaching Social Work Team - Southern; "Rockz Elements", "Unique" and "Unity" from the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong; and "E. Din" from the Hong Kong Young Women's Christian Association Tseung Kwan O Integrated Social Service Centre.

     The show will be held from 2pm to 4pm in the Interactive Theatre of the DIC at the Roof Floor, Low Block, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong (Admiralty MTR Station - Exit C1). Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
