***********************************************************

The children's adventure theatre production "Beacon in the Dark" will be staged at the Tuen Mun Town Hall Auditorium on July 30 and 31 (Tuesday and Wednesday). Admission to the shows, which are organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and aim to take audiences on an adventurous journey concerning life, is free on a first-come, first-served basis.

Produced by Pop Theatre, "Beacon in the Dark" is written and directed by Chan Wing-chuen. It tells a story of a boy, YoYo, who lives with his grandfather. YoYo is timid and shy. However, he courageously takes on an adventure in a bid to save his grandfather's life by finding a doctor far away. During the performance, interactive elements will be featured, with children being invited to step onto the stage so that they may experience the amazing stage effects.

The theatre production will be staged in Cantonese at the Tuen Mun Town Hall Auditorium at 2.30pm and 4pm on both July 30 and 31. Admission is free. No tickets are required but admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.

"Beacon in the Dark" is part of the large-scale summer festival International Arts Carnival (IAC). The IAC is also one of the events under the "Vibrant Hong Kong" theme of the "Hong Kong: Our Home" Campaign.
