New edition of "Dr Sun Yat-sen & Hong Kong: Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum Exhibition Catalogue" put on sale (with photos)
***********************************************************

To pay tribute to the great historical figure Dr Sun Yat-sen on the 130th anniversary of his first visit to Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Museum of History has published a new edition of "Dr Sun Yat-sen & Hong Kong: Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum Exhibition Catalogue". Supplemented with feature articles and more historical images, this catalogue sheds light on the strong links that connect Dr Sun with the territory.

Featuring insightful articles and about 500 invaluable historical images and maps, the new publication covers three main sections which offer readers an insight into the connection between Dr Sun Yat-sen and Hong Kong. The three sections are "Dr Sun Yat-sen and Modern China", which explores Dr Sun's life and his path from school to revolution; "Hong Kong in the Time of Dr Sun Yat-sen", which tells of the activities of Dr Sun and his family members in Hong Kong before the 1911 Revolution, and explains why Hong Kong proved to be such an effective staging post for Dr Sun's revolutionary cause in terms of timing, geographical convenience and human talent; and "The Development of the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum", which looks at the history of the 100-year-old Kom Tong Hall, the home of the museum today, as well as the life of its original owner, Ho Kom-tong.

With 316 pages and priced at $155, the catalogue is now available at the Gift Shops of the Hong Kong Museum of History and the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum, as well as bookstores of Chung Hwa Book Company, the Commercial Press and Joint Publishing Company. For more details of the publication, please visit the Hong Kong Museum of History's website at hk.history.museum/en_US/web/mh/publications/list-of-publications-detail.html .

The exhibits include photographs of Dr Sun and his family members and letters sent to each other, as well as artefacts used by his family members. The exhibition runs until October 30.
