Extra shows of "Body Rhapsody" and "SensoryO" (with photos)
***********************************************************

Additional performances of two stage programmes, "Body Rhapsody" and "SensoryO", in the large-scale summer festival International Arts Carnival have been scheduled in response to overwhelming public demand. Tickets will be available from tomorrow (May 24) onwards at URBTIX.

The two mime-artist puppeteers of Teatro Hugo & Ines from Peru will transform different parts of their bodies into a lively line-up of lovable characters in "Body Rhapsody". Watch out for the "Belly" that loves to eat but is afraid of gaining weight, the "Knee" that turns into an unlucky bald busker, and the "Foot" that pulls a really long face! Without words or complicated props, the parade of whimsical personalities takes to the stage to highlight the absurdities of daily life through pathos and laughter.

The additional performance of "Body Rhapsody" will be held at 7.30pm on July 13 at the Tsuen Wan Town Hall Cultural Activities Hall, with tickets priced at $160.

Produced by the Scottish Opera of the United Kingdom, the interactive music theatre production "SensoryO", tailor-made for toddlers between 18 and 36 months, brings together operatic elements with melodies, rhythms and harmonies that appeal to the very young. The singers will invite the toddlers to join an adventurous train ride to a fantastical jungle, where they can play with a friendly lion under a starry sky. Lively singing and percussion along with colourful props and sets provide a striking visual and musical encounter, enriching children's sensory awareness in a highly engaging way.

Additional performances of "SensoryO" will be held at 5pm on August 2 and 4 at the Hong Kong City Hall Exhibition Hall, with tickets priced at $220 for adults and $110 for toddlers. The shows will have limited English dialogue.

Half-price tickets are available for full-time students, senior citizens, people with disabilities and their minders, and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients. Booking discounts of up to 20 per cent are available for full-price performing arts and film programmes.

The International Arts Carnival is one of the events under the "Vibrant Hong Kong" theme of the "Hong Kong: Our Home" Campaign. Programme brochures are available at URBTIX outlets or at the carnival website www.hkiac.gov.hk.
