Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Education, Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, at a media session today (April 17):
Reporter: The Director of Audit said many kindergartens are not disclosing their miscellaneous fees, how could the Education Bureau let that happen?
Secretary for Education: The current system would work like this. Every year when we review the application for adjustment of fee charging, there will be a lot of information required, inclusive of various expenses items, income statements and so on. At this point of time, we will be able to recognise a lot of those items. I notice that in the Audit Report, saying a couple of those items may not be classified or booked into certain headings. This is something that we will be looking into.
