Awards recognise remarkable achievements in ICT (with photos)

     The remarkable achievements of the local information and communications technology (ICT) sector were recognised at the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2013 Awards Presentation Ceremony tonight (April 8).

     Network Box Corp Ltd received the Award of the Year, the highest accolade, from the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at the presentation ceremony. The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, presented the Grand Awards to the winners of 10 award categories.

     The evening also marked the opening of International IT Fest 2013. The inaugural IT Fest, featuring 25 various events in the coming fortnight to showcase Hong Kong's IT developments and strengths, aims at reinforcing Hong Kong's position as an ICT hub in the Asia Pacific region.

     Addressing the ceremony, Mr Leung said that over the years the Hong Kong ICT Awards had been a springboard for many winners to achieve international acclaims, establish their reputations, and expand into the global market.

     The Hong Kong ICT Awards was established in 2006 under a collaborative effort of industry, academia and the Government. The aim is to build a large-scale and internationally recognised brand of ICT awards in Hong Kong.

     The Hong Kong ICT Awards 2013 comprises 10 categories, with a total of 610 entries received. There is one Grand Award in each category and the best of the best - the Award of the Year - is selected from the 10 Grand Award winners. The winners in each category are as follows:

1. Best Business Grand Award:

2. Best Collaboration Grand Award:
Brio Electronic Commerce Ltd (China-HK Road Cargo Monitor Service)

3. Best Digital Entertainment Grand Award:
ManyMany Creations Ltd (Ocean Park - Thematic)

4. Best Digital Inclusion Grand Award:
Keysquare Communication Ltd (Quickey Universal Keyboard System)

5. Best Green ICT Grand Award:
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd (HKEx Hosting Services)

6. Best Innovation and Research Grand Award:
Cherrypicks Ltd/Starberry Ltd (SmartD Kiosk Experience)

7. Best Lifestyle Grand Award:
Ckicom Technology Ltd (CAREase Inductive Diaper & Networking Wetness Care System)

8. Best Mobile Apps Grand Award:
Hotmob Ltd/Senstation Ltd/ORBIS Hong Kong (ORBIS Moonwalkers)

9. Best Public Service Application Grand Award:
New World First Bus Services Ltd/Citybus Ltd (Intelligent Passenger Information and Fleet Management System)

10. Best SME ICT Grand Award:
Sun Kam Yuen Restaurant/SINO Dynamic Solutions Ltd (Hong Kong Style Bistro Food Ordering System)
