Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after officiating at the Joyful Fruit Month Kick-off Ceremony organised by the Department of Health this afternoon (March 26):
The Subcommittee (on Import and Export (General)(Amendment) Regulation 2013) of the Legislative Council to scrutinise the proposed amendments to the Import and Export Ordinance regarding the restriction of taking formula milk powder away from Hong Kong will meet this Thursday. We hope we will be able to table an amendment to the definition of powdered formula to make it clearer. Our aim is to help our front-line law enforcement officers to more easily identify products that are under the relevant restriction.
