Transcript of question-and-answer session of press conference of Economic Development Commission
***************************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at the question-and-answer session of the press conference of the Economic Development Commission held at the Auditorium of the Central Government Offices, Tamar, today (March 13):

Reporter: Mr Leung, you mentioned that you want concrete proposals from these members. You may actually incorporate these proposals into your Policy Address or your Budget. How exactly can you ensure that there would be no feeling of collusion in the part of the public when some few members actually has banks or has the stock exchange or some other businesses. How can you ensure that there is no direct link between their business and your government, that there's no collusion? Thank you.

Chief Executive: We have a declaration of interest requirement. Secondly and this is an important point, we cannot shut out members of the various industries just because they run or they are employed by these industries. We do need on the ground experiences and views so that government know what to do, so that our economy, through government policies, could grow better and faster.
