Special traffic arrangements in Chai Wan during Ching Ming Festival

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements in Chai Wan to facilitate vehicular traffic and pedestrian movements during Ching Ming Festival.

     Traffic control will be implemented on the section of Cape Collinson Road east of Lin Shing Road between 9am and 4pm on March 10, 16, 17, 23, April 20, 21, 27 and 28.

     The following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic between 7am and 6pm on March 24, 29, 30, 31, April 6, 7, 13 and 14:

(a) the slip road leading from Cape Collinson Road to the Garden of Remembrance and Crematorium, except hearses and funeral vehicles;
(b) the slip road leading to Chai Wan Chinese Permanent Cemetery;
(c) Wan Tsui Lane;
(d) Cape Collinson Road east of Lin Shing Road except green minibus (GMB) route 18M, hearses, funeral vehicles and vehicles with permits;
(e) Cape Collinson Road west of Lin Shing Road, except franchised buses, GMB routes 16A, 16M, 16X and 18M, hearses, funeral vehicles and vehicles with permits; and
(f) Lin Shing Road, except franchised buses, GMB routes 16A, 16M, 16X and 18M, hearses, funeral vehicles, vehicles with permits, and vehicles to Wan Tsui Estate.

     Depending on traffic condition, Police officers may allow taxis and public light buses (PLBs) to enter Lin Shing Road and turn right to Cape Collinson Road.

     The following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic between 7am and 6.30pm on April 1 and 4:

(a) Lin Shing Road, except franchised buses, GMB routes 16A, 16M and 16X, hearses, funeral vehicles, vehicles with permits, and vehicles to Wan Tsui Estate; and
(b) Cape Collinson Road, except franchised buses, GMB routes 16A, 16M and 16X, hearses, funeral vehicles and vehicles with permits.

     In connection with road closure, the following roads will be re-routed one-way:

(a) Wan Tsui Road between Chai Wan Road and Fei Tsui Road will be re-routed one-way westbound;
(b) Lin Shing Road from Wan Tsui Road to Cape Collinson Road will be re-routed one-way southbound; and
(c) Cape Collinson Road from Crematorium slip road to Shek O Road will be re-routed one-way westbound.

     No parking will be permitted along Cape Collinson Road, Lin Shing Road, a section of Shek O Road between Lai Chi Rehabilitation Centre and Tai Tam Road, and Wan Tsui Road.

     Taxis, PLBs and private cars will not be permitted to enter Lin Shing Road for Cape Collinson Road except for those gaining access to Wan Tsui Estate.  They will be allowed to drop off passengers at the PLB stand on Fei Tsui road near the junction with Wan Tsui Road.

     Private cars will be prohibited from entering the car park of Hing Wah Estate Phase I from northbound Wan Tsui Road.

     Depending on traffic condition, PLBs may be prohibited from entering Tai Tam Road from Chai Wan Road without prior notice.

     PLBs will be prohibited from picking up or dropping off passengers on the section of Wan Tsui Road between Chai Wan Road and Fei Tsui Road.

     PLB stand at Fei Tsui Road near its junction with Wan Tsui Road will be suspended.

     Taxi stand at Kut Shing Street outside MTR Chai Wan Station will be re-located to the lay-by outside block 6 of New Jade Garden.

     Bus stops on Wan Tsui Road will be suspended.  Bus stops on northbound Wan Tsui Road will be relocated to the lay-by about 60 metres northward.

     Two temporary bus stops will be provided on Chai Wan Road, outside No. 220 and Hong Man Industrial Building for buses heading for Shau Kei Wan and Siu Sai Wan respectively.

     The bus stop on Shek O Road near Cape Collinson Road will be relocated to a spot near Lai Chi Rehabilitation Centre.

     Actual implementation of road closure, traffic control and traffic diversion will be made by Police officers at the time depending on traffic condition.
