The following is issued on behalf of the Promotion Committee of "Hygienic, Healthy & Dynamic City" of the Wan Chai District Council:

With a view to disseminating community health messages to Wan Chai District residents and establishing a platform for health information exchange, the Promotion Committee of "Hygienic, Healthy & Dynamic City" of the Wan Chai District Council and the Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service Wan Chai Integrated Children and Youth Services Centre today (February 8) launched a new publication, "Healthy and Joyous Wan Chai".

The theme of this issue of the quarterly publication is exploring the concept of "healthy city". The editorial team conducted interviews with community members in order to understand their views and definitions of it. Other featured themes include the Committee's activity highlights as well as community health tips and upcoming events.

The Chairman of the Committee, Dr Jeffery Pong, said, "With regard to the development of Wan Chai District, we need to disseminate health messages to the local residents through more means in addition to talks and activities. This quarterly can serve as a platform for health information exchange and turn Wan Chai into a more hygienic, healthy and dynamic community."

The quarterly is published in Chinese with a first print run of 8 000 copies. It will be available at the Public Enquiry Service Centre of the Wan Chai District (Address: G/F, 2 O'Brien Road, Wan Chai) and the Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service Wan Chai Integrated Children and Youth Services Centre (Address: 3/F, 36 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai) on a first-come, first-served basis.
