Seminar for SMEs on "The Trademark Systems in Hong Kong and the Mainland"

     The Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS) of the Trade and Industry Department will hold a seminar entitled "The Trademark Systems in Hong Kong and the Mainland" on February 28 (Thursday). The seminar will explain the differences in the trademark registration systems between Hong Kong and the Mainland, and look into the law enforcement work in the Mainland and practical ways to handle trademark squatting in Hong Kong.

     Speakers will include the Director of the Trademark Management Division, Guangdong Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce, Mr Wu Lichao, and the Chair of the Licensing Executives Society China, Hong Kong Sub-Chapter, Ms Anita Leung. The speakers will talk on the latest developments of trademark registration systems in Hong Kong and the Mainland. There will also be an experience sharing session with two guests, namely the Chairman of the G2000 Group, Mr Michael Tien, and the Chairman of A-Fontane Group Limited, Dr David Hui. This session will be moderated by the Senior Manager of the Intellectual Property Centre of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, Mr P Y Chu.

     The seminar will be held at 2.30pm in the Lecture Theatre, G/F, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay (MTR Tin Hau station, exit B). The seminar will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free.
