LegCo Members meet with Kwun Tong and Wan Chai District Council members (with photos)

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

     To enable Members of the Legislative Council (LegCo) to discuss and exchange views with members of District Councils (DCs) on matters of mutual interest, meetings have been arranged for LegCo Members to meet with DC members from time to time.

     Two meetings were held today (January 24) in Conference Room 1 and Conference Room 2B of the LegCo Complex for Members to meet with members of Kwun Tong District Council and Wan Chai District Council respectively.

     During the meeting with Kwun Tong District Council, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with DC members on the following issue: provision of lift tower and barrier free access at Exit A of Lam Tin MTR station; the provision of barrier free access in the expansion of United Christian Hospital; supporting transport facilities and environmental hygiene of Yau Tong, and noise and emission problems of Tseung Kwan O - Lam Tin Tunnel; supporting transport facilities in Choi Fook Estate, Choi Ying Estate and Choi Tak Estate; and the progress of construction of Kowloon Bay elevated walkway system. The meeting was convened by Mr Chan Kam-lam and attended by Mr Andrew Leung, Ms Starry Lee, Mr Chan Kin-por, Mr Wong Kwok-kin, Mr Ip Kwok-him, Mr Paul Tse, Mr Alan Leong, Mr Wong Yuk-man, Mr Wu Chi-wai, Mr Yiu Si-wing, Mr Ma Fung-kwok, Mr Ip Kin-yuen and Dr Lo Wai-kwok.

     As for the meeting with Wan Chai District Council, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with DC members on the following issue: liquor licensing; noise and light nuisances generated by outdoor video walls; and considering the introduction of legislative control over the feeding of wild doves in urban areas. The meeting was convened by Mr Tommy Cheung and attended by Mr Wong Kwok-hing, Mr Jeffrey Lam, Mr Wong Ting-kwong, Ms Starry Lee, Mr Cheung Kwok-che, Mr Ip Kwok-him, Mr Paul Tse, Ms Claudia Mo, Mr Ng Leung-sing, Dr Kenneth Chan, Mr Kwok Wai-keung, Mr Dennis Kwok, Mr Christopher Cheung, Mr Sin Chung-kai, Mr Martin Liao, Mr Poon Siu-ping and Mr Christopher Chung.
