Hongkong Post today (December 11) announced that a roving stamp exhibition entitled "History in Miniature: The 150th Anniversary of Stamp Issuance in Hong Kong" will be held at the Hong Kong Museum of History from December 19, 2012 to January 16, 2013.      To celebrate the 150th anniversary of stamp issuance in Hong Kong, Hongkong Post has joined hands with the Hong Kong Museum of History and the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre to present the stamp exhibition, which will showcase the evolution of Hong Kong stamps over the past 150 years and the unfading charm of stamps.

Definitive stamps issued during different periods since December 8, 1862, and special stamps with distinctive features will be on display at the roving exhibition, supplemented by historical photographs. Rare and valuable stamps, together with associated philatelic products, that mark 150 years of stamp history in Hong Kong will be displayed as well. Admission is free of charge for the general public.

Two Heartwarming Stamps mini-panes to commemorate the stamp exhibition "The 150th Anniversary of Stamp Issuance in Hong Kong", together with an Official Souvenir Cover (Prestige Version) and a Serviced Souvenir Cover (Prestige Version) affixed with two Heartwarming Stamps (local and air mail postage) bearing the Philatelic Bureau postmark dated December 19, 2012, and a commemorative cachet, will be on sale at the Tai Yip Art Book Centre at the Hong Kong Museum of History and the PostShop at the General Post Office from December 19, 2012.

For the first leg of the roving exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of History (closed on Tuesdays, except public holidays), a philatelic posting box will be set up at the General Post Office and Granville Road Post Office from December 19, 2012 to January 16, 2013 for customers to collect the pictorial postmarks of the General Post Office and Granville Road Post Office respectively. In addition, commemorative cachets in four different colours, in a sequence of black, blue, green and red, will be provided at the Hong Kong Museum of History, the General Post Office and Granville Road Post Office in rotation during the four-week exhibition period. On January 16, 2013, the last day of the exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of History, all four coloured cachets will be available at these three locations.

Two talks will be held during the exhibition period at the Hong Kong Museum of History.
