USA's Harlem Gospel Choir to give concerts in late December

     Presented as part of the "Cheers!" series by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the world-famous Harlem Gospel Choir will give two concerts in Hong Kong in late December.

     Frequently touring the globe and sharing the joy of faith through music, Harlem Gospel Choir is probably the most prominent gospel choir in the United States. The Choir was founded in 1986 by Allen Bailey, who got the idea while attending a celebration in honour of Dr Martin Luther King at the Cotton Club in Harlem. The Choir recruits the finest singers and musicians from churches in Harlem, New York, and the surrounding area. In 2007, it won the American Entertainment Magazine's Readers' Choice Award for Best Arts Performance.

     The programme will include Christmas carols, gospel music, the Whitney Houston hits "The Greatest Love of All", "I Will Always Love You", and more.

December 29 (Saturday) 8pm
Auditorium, Yuen Long Theatre
Tickets: $220, $160, $100

Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and their minders, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients (limited tickets for CSSA recipients available on a first-come, first-served basis).
