************************************************************

Which animal is the smartest in the world? Which bird dives the deepest? Which is the fastest animal on land? Get the answers from the "Zoo Education Exhibition 2012 - The Most Extreme Animals in the World" organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD).

To be held alternately at six LCSD parks, namely Kowloon Park, Hong Kong Park, Tuen Mun Park, Yuen Long Park, Tai Po Waterfront Park and Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens (HKZBG), the roving exhibition will run from this Saturday (December 8) to January 20, 2013.

"Display panels with information about 20 of the most extreme animals in the sea and the sky as well as on land will be put up in parks, well illustrated with lively photos. Members of the public can learn more about the dimensions, weight, height and speed of these amazing animals," a spokesman for the department said.

"Through the exhibition, we hope to arouse public interest in animal ecology and enhance public awareness of nature conservation," he said.

A series of activities will be held this Saturday (December 8) and Sunday (December 9) from 10am to 4pm at the Arcade of Kowloon Park and the Secondary Hall of Kowloon Park Sports Centre to launch the exhibition.

Besides viewing the exhibition panels, park visitors can join a guided tour of the Bird Lake and the Aviary arranged by the department and enrol in educational talks on "Knowledge of Animals".
