HA's new shopping centre Domain officially opens (with photos)

     The Housing Authority (HA)・s largest and newest shopping centre:Domain" in Yau Tong, Kowloon was officially opened today (December 1).

     Officiating at the opening ceremony, the Secretary for Transport and Housing, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung said, "Being the newest one-stop mega integrated shopping centre of the HA, Domain embodies HA・s latest position in the provision of shopping facilities, providing a comprehensive range of shopping, leisure, entertainment and dining facilities to the region・s population of over 100 000.;

     "Domain brings in new retail concepts. The Small Retail Zone on the second floor provides a platform specially catered for young entrepreneurs and small business operators with entrepreneurship, creativity and a strong sense for trends to start their business. There are also shop units in the zone reserved for social enterprises so as to offer them with business opportunities," said Professor Cheung.

     He was accompanied by the Chairman of HA・s Commercial Properties Committee (CPC), Mr Michael Choi Ngai-min and members of the CPC, as well as the Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Housing)/Director of Housing, Mr D W Pescod and the Deputy Director of Housing (Estate Management), Mr Albert Lee.

     Adjoining the adjacent Yau Tong Mass Transit Railway Station and major public transport interchanges, Domain has a total floor area of about 45 000 square metres with eight floors, six themed zones and 150 shops. Currently, almost 100% of the shopping areas have been leased out.
 
     Overlooking the Victoria Harbour with breathtaking views, the rooftop garden is another attraction of Domain. The garden also provides spacious outdoor areas with playground equipment.
