Special traffic arrangements in Sandy Ridge and Wo Hop Shek

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements in the vicinity of Sandy Ridge and Wo Hop Shek from today (October 8) to November 11 to facilitate vehicular traffic and pedestrian movements during Chung Yeung Festival.

Sandy Ridge

     Sandy Ridge Frontier Closed Area will be opened to grave-sweepers between 6am and 6pm daily between October 8 and November 11. Vehicles without Closed Road Permit will not be allowed to enter the closed area.

     Between 6am and 6pm daily on October 21, 23 and 28, Lo Wu Station Road from its junction with Man Kam To Road to a point of about 280 metres west near the cemetery management office will be closed to all vehicular traffic (except for emergency vehicles, vehicles of Lo Wu Village residents with Closed Road Permit and vehicles with Closed Road Permit allowed to park at the carpark of MTR Lo Wu Station).

     Between 6am and 6pm daily between October 8 and November 11, all vehicles (except for franchised buses, emergency vehicles and vehicles with permit) will not be allowed to pick up or drop off passengers or goods on the following sections of roads:
(a) a section of Man Kam To Road between Fu Tei Au Road and Sha Ling roadblock; and
(b) a section of Kong Nga Po Road between Frontier Closed Area and Sha Ling roadblock.

Wo Hop Shek

     The following traffic arrangements will be implemented on October 13, 14, 20, 21, 23, 27 and 28.

A. Road closure

     The following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 6am to 5pm (except for emergency vehicles and those specified below):
(a) Kiu Tau Road (except for hearses);
(b) Ming Yin Road (except for franchised buses);
(c) Wo Ka Lau Road;
(d) the flyover between Kau Lung Hang Village and Tai Wo Service Road West (except for taxis, coaches, school buses, green minibuses, private cars, goods vehicles and motorcycles); and
(e) all access roads within Wo Hop Shek Cemetery.
 
B. Stopping restriction

     All vehicles (except for franchised buses, emergency vehicles and vehicles with permit) will not be allowed to pick up or drop off passengers or goods between 7am and 5pm on the following roads:
(a) Wo Hing Road;
(b) Lui Ming Road;
(c) Wai Ming Street;
(d) Pak Wo Road;
(e) Wah Ming Road;
(f) Yat Ming Road;
(g) Wo Ming Lane;
(h) Fai Ming Road;
(i) Wah Ming Lane;
(j) Yan Shing Lane; and
(k) Tai Wo Service Road West between Wo Hing Road and a point about 300 metres south of its junction with Kiu Tau Road.

     Vehicles travelling on northbound Pak Wo Road outside Fung Ying Seen Koon will not be allowed to turn right to southbound Pak Wo Road outside MTR Fanling Station, and vehicles travelling on southbound Pak Wo Road outside MTR Fanling Station will not be allowed to turn right into the carpark on Pak Wo Road near Fung Ying Seen Koon.

C. Suspension of carparks and parking spaces

     The following carparks will be closed and parking spaces suspended between 7am and 5pm:
(a) the carpark on Wo Hing Road near Wo Hop Shek Interchange (except for emergency vehicles and public light buses);
(b) the carpark on Wo Hing Road near Ming Yin Road roundabout (except for emergency vehicles and taxis);
(c) the carpark on Pak Wo Road near Fung Ying Seen Koon (except for emergency vehicles, disabled drivers to use the disabled parking spaces, and public buses of the residentsˇ¦ service route No. NR112); and
(d) all parking spaces on Wah Ming Lane (except for emergency vehicles).

D. Suspension of taxi stands

     The taxi stand on Lui Ming Road outside Wah Ming Estate will be suspended (except for New Territories taxis) from 7am to 5pm. However, all taxis will be allowed to pick up or drop off passengers in the carpark on Wo Hing Road near Ming Yin Road roundabout during the suspension period.

     The taxi stand in the carpark on Pak Wo Road near Fung Ying Seen Koon will be suspended from 7am to 5pm.

     Vehicles parked illegally near the above areas may be towed away without prior notice.

     Actual implementation of road closure and traffic control will be made by the Police at the time depending on conditions in the areas.
