The Labour Department will hold a three-day job fair at Citywalk in Tsuen Wan from October 10 to 12.
A total of 57 organisations will participate in the job fair. They mainly come from the retail, catering and property management industries, offering a total of over 4,100 vacancies. Nineteen organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment on each day.
The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as assistant engineer, beauty consultant, sales assistant, clerk, storekeeper, driver, technician, domestic helper, chef, waiter/waitress, shop assistant, cashier, security guard and cleaner. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 78 per cent of the vacancies are full-time jobs. The majority of the vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $6,000 to $11,000. Around 98 per cent of these vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below. Around 64 per cent are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at the Event Hall, UG/F, Citywalk, 1 Yeung Uk Road, Tsuen Wan, New Territories. Admission is free.
