Arrangement for cross-boundary private cars with closed road permits for Lok Ma Chau/Man Kam To/Sha Tau Kok crossings to use Shenzhen Bay Port
************************************************************

The Transport Department announced today (September 27) that cross-boundary private cars with a valid closed road permit (CRP) for the Lok Ma Chau/Man Kam To/Sha Tau Kok crossings can continue to use the Shenzhen Bay Port (SBP) until September 30, 2013.

A Department spokesman said, "The arrangement for cross-boundary private cars to use SBP was originally planned to end on September 30, 2012. To facilitate usage of SBP by the cross-boundary private car quota holders of the other three land boundary crossings, the Hong Kong and Guangdong governments have reached an agreement to allow them to continue using the SBP between October 1, 2012, and September 30, 2013, without the need to go through additional procedures, provided that they possess a valid CRP and the approval letter issued by the department."

The spokesman added, "The Transport Department will send letters to individual private car quota holders of the Lok Ma Chau, Man Kam To and Sha Tau Kok crossings to inform them of the arrangements shortly."
