Employed members of low-income households may apply for Work Incentive Transport Subsidy under higher limits
************************************************************

A Labour Department (LD) spokesperson today (September 16) reminded members of the public that the household income and asset limits of the Work Incentive Transport Subsidy (WITS) Scheme have been raised since March this year. Employed members of low-income households may apply under the new limits.

The WITS Scheme allows applicants to claim a subsidy for the previous six to 12 months in each application. Applicants eligible under the increased household income and asset limits may now apply for the subsidy for the previous six months (March to August).

Application forms are available at Job Centres, the Headquarters and the WITS Division of the LD, Public Enquiry Service Centres of the Home Affairs Department and Social Security Field Units of the Social Welfare Department. Members of the public may also download the application form from the LD's homepage.

Enquiries about details of the Scheme can be made at the LD's 24-hour hotline 2717 1771 (handled by the 1823 Call Centre) and enquiry counters of the WITS Division at G/F, 15 Middle Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. Details of the Scheme are also available at the LD's homepage (www.labour.gov.hk).
