Declarations of interests by CE, ExCo Members and Politically Appointed Officials available for public inspection
*****************************************************

Declarations of interests by the Chief Executive, Executive Council (ExCo) Members and Politically Appointed Officials are available on Government websites for public inspection starting today (August 10).

A Government spokesman stated that declarations of registrable interests of the Chief Executive and both Official and Non-Official ExCo Members have been uploaded to the ExCo website (www.ceo.gov.hk/exco/eng/interests.html).

Meanwhile, declarations of interests by Politically Appointed Officials as required by the "Code for Officials under the Political Appointment System" are now accessible on the websites of the respective offices or bureaux.

"This is the first declaration by the team of Principal Officials of the Fourth Term Government. In response to the recommendations of the Independent Review Committee for the Prevention and Handling of Potential Conflicts of Interests, and according to the revised 'Code for Officials under the Political Appointment System' which came into effect from July 1, 2012, officials are also required to declare their membership of boards, committees and other organisations. It is believed that the transparency of declaration can be enhanced although more time for preparation is needed," the spokesman said.
