The Office for Film, Newspaper and Article Administration (OFNAA) will launch the Second Healthy Mobile Phone / Tablet Apps Nomination Programme to promote the use of healthy and educational applications (Apps) among youngsters and to give recognition to the developers of healthy Apps. Members of the public are invited to nominate their favourite Apps through the website www.merit.gov.hk from tomorrow (August 1) to October 31.
Ten winning Apps will be selected from the nominations by a panel of adjudicators in accordance with the following criteria:
* ability to foster a healthy mind;
* education value;
* practicality;
* layout and creativeness; and
* value for money.
Nominators of the winning Apps will have the chance to win a HK$300 cash coupon (10 prizes), and a HK$100 cash coupon (50 prizes). The results will be announced in an award ceremony to be held in early 2013.
The programme was launched in 2011, attracting more than 700 nominations. Last year's winning Apps can be viewed on www.merit.gov.hk. OFNAA will also hold roving exhibitions to promote these winning Apps to the public and youngsters in August. Details will be available on the aforesaid website later.
