Latest government yearbook to be launched at book fair (with photo)
************************************************************

The Government's latest yearbook, "Hong Kong 2011", goes on sale at the Hong Kong Book Fair tomorrow (July 18).

As with previous editions, the book provides an in-depth account of government policy and activities and an overview of Hong Kong life and developments in 2011. It is a useful reference source for information of record.

The front cover features the new Central Government Offices on the harbourfront, designed as an "open door" to depict the Administration as open and receptive to new ideas.

The offices, which opened in August 2011, are part of a major project at Tamar that also houses the Legislative Council Complex and the Chief Executive's Office and features an abundance of greenery and open space.

The 21 chapters cover a wide range of subjects ranging from the economy, commerce and industry, employment, environment, social welfare, education and infrastructural development to culture and recreation, sports and the arts.

"Hong Kong 2011" has 12 colour sections with more than 110 photographs, including those relating to the Tamar Development Project, elections, trade fairs and conferences, cultural and natural heritage, green living, new attractions, the Japan earthquake, global promotions, creative industries, the cultural kaleidoscope and sporting action.

English and Chinese editions of the book will be on sale at the Information Services Department (ISD) booth (booth number: 1B-A38) at the Hong Kong Book Fair from tomorrow.

A 25 per cent discount on the book's cover price of $194 will be offered to buyers at the fair.

Purchasers are asked to bring along their own carry bag as plastic bags will not be handed out at the booth.

More than 100 other government publications will be on sale at the ISD booth.

"Hong Kong 2011" and other government publications can be ordered online at www.bookstore.gov.hk or by:
