Special traffic and transport arrangements for Hong Kong Book Fair 2012

     The Transport Department (TD) today (July 16) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented this Friday (July 20) and Saturday (July 21) to facilitate the extension of opening hours of the Hong Kong Book Fair 2012 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) on those two days.
 
     The special traffic and transport arrangements will include:

* The slow lane of Expo Drive westbound underneath HKCEC Phase II and the section of slow lane of Expo Drive East northbound between Expo Drive and Expo Drive Central will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 9pm on July 20 and 21 to 1am of the following day (except for franchised buses);

* The last sailing of the "Star" Ferry service between Wan Chai and Tsim Sha Tsui will be ext`ended to 11.30pm on July 20 and 21. The headway of the ferry service will also be enhanced to 8-12 minutes during the period between 8pm to 11.30pm; and

* Two special cross-harbour bus routes, 105R (to Mei Foo) and 111R (to Yue Man Square, Kwun Tong), will be operated by the bus companies from HKCEC Phase II at Expo Drive from 10pm on July 20 and 21 to 1am of the following day. The headway will be 10-15 minutes with a fare charged at $15.5.
