FEHD orders Wong Tai Sin light refreshment restaurant to suspend business for two weeks
*********************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a light refreshment restaurant in Wong Tai Sin to suspend business for 14 days.

The operator repeatedly breached the Food Business Regulation by illegally extending the food business area.

The restaurant, Fortune Restaurant, located on the ground floor and the outside seating accommodation at the shopfront of 26 Kam Chi Path in Ngau Chi Wan, was ordered to suspend business from today (June 25) to July 8.

"In February and April this year, two convictions for the breach were recorded against the food establishment," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.

"A total fine of $5,800 was levied by the court and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," he added.

The licensee of the food premises had a record of two convictions for the same offence in May and September last year. A fine of $4,400 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days last November.

The spokesman reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
