CE-elect applied to court to correct errors
*******************************************

The Chief Executive-elect has taken the initiative to apply to the court in accordance with the law for an order to correct some errors found in his Return and Declaration of Election Expenses and Election Donations (the "Election Return") lodged earlier.

The application mainly deals with a miscellaneous expense of about HK$149,000 and other minor expenses. Other amendments include refunds of deposits received after the lodgment of the Election Return and a few typos, a spokesman for the Chief Executive-elect's Office said.

The spokesman stressed that the application for corrections was not made as a result of the Court of Final Appeal's recent judgement in the case of MOK CHARLES PETER v TAM WAI HO, and no amendment in relation to the period of which election expenses were counted was made because of the said judgement.

The outcome of the application will not affect the Chief Executive-elect taking office on July 1.
