Extra performance of "The World Behind the Shadow Workshop"
***********************************************************

In response to the overwhelming popularity of "The World Behind the Shadow Workshop" by Fantasy Puppet Theatre, an additional workshop will be held on May 26. More patrons will be able to see how manually controlled shadow puppets create fun-filled images, through the live demonstrations in the workshop.

Tailor-made for children and their parents, workshop activities will include demonstrations of traditional and modern shadow puppetry, showing how the puppets are manipulated as well as the techniques for controlling the puppets, plus a question-and-answer session and photo-taking opportunities. Through lively introductions from the instructors, participants will also learn more about various types of puppets and their characteristics. The instructors will use three different kinds of light source to re-run highlights of past productions. In addition, the audience will have a chance to learn how to control the puppets and be involved in constructing a wonderful world of light and shadow.

Established in 2005, Fantasy Puppet Theatre works with a wide range of techniques to produce original puppet shows for children and their parents. Three key members in the troupe - Chen Ying-ching, Lam Mei-yee and Yip Wai-bun - manage all stories, puppets, music creation and puppet performances. The diverse backgrounds of the members help the troupe to explore and enrich the possibilities of modern children's puppet theatre using a multifaceted approach.

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), the extra session of "The World Behind the Shadow Workshop" by Fantasy Puppet Theatre will be held at 7.30pm on May 26 (Saturday) at the Auditorium, Yuen Long Theatre.
