The Transport Department today (April 27) invited tenders for two contracts on the procurement of communication links. These contracts are for (a) Procurement of Communication Links for On-street Traffic Signal Control and Related Equipment (Contract No. TD 1/2012); and (b) Procurement of Communication Links for Closed Circuits Television Systems and Related Equipment (Contract No. TD 2/2012).
The contract period for both contracts will be from July 2012 to September 2017. The contracts cover the provision of communication services which serve existing traffic control and closed circuit television systems managed by the Transport Department.
The services of the two contracts mainly include:
- Provision of communication links for the transmission of data between on-street traffic signal controllers and related equipment and traffic control centres, and also between traffic control centres;
- Provision of communication links for the transmission of closed circuit television (CCTV) images between on-street CCTV cameras and traffic control centres and also between traffic control centres; and
- Provision of digital data links for the transmission of data between equipment and/or workstations accommodated at various locations for traffic control and monitoring, and office automation applications.
