Passoverdance to perform "Maze" in June
***************************************

Local arts group Passoverdance will perform its latest production "Maze" in June.

Choreographers Pewan Chow and Rosalind Newman, who have years of creating and performing experience, will present their production with a new twist - by restricting the audience's sightline and position as the point of departure, thereby creating an interactive process between the audience's angle of sight and the choreographers' designs. During this process, the many difficulties and obstacles in life, the constraints brought about by social, cultural and physiological differences, and the possible ways to resolve them or to achieve a breakthrough, will be explored.

The theatre will be transformed into an environment that is at the same time boundless and restrictive, as the dancers, physical movements, setting, visual effects and music lead the audience into one labyrinth in life after another.

Apart from Chow, performers in "Maze" are Han Mei, Cyrus Hui, Elaine Kwok, Ivanhoe Lam, Man Liu, Sarah Lo, Antoinette Mak, Pandora Sin, Wong Sze-ling and Cally Yip.

"Maze" is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. It will be held at 8pm on June 6, 7 and 8 (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday), and at 2pm, 5pm and 8.30pm on June 9 and 10 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Multi-Media Theatre, HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity. Tickets priced at $180 are now available at URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by credit card telephone booking. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and their minders, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients (limited tickets for CSSA recipients available on a first-come, first-served basis). A maximum discount of 20 per cent is offered for the group booking package.

Members of the audience should note that no fixed seating will be available for the performances. They may be led to various performance areas and be asked to take off their shoes when entering the designated areas. There will be a meet-the-artists session after the performance on June 8.
