A Labour Department (LD) spokesman today (April 19) reminded members of the public that applications for the Work Incentive Transport Subsidy (WITS) for April 2011 will close on April 30, 2012 (Monday).
The WITS Scheme allows applicants to claim a subsidy for the previous six to 12 months in each application. Applications for the 12-month subsidy starting from April 2011 onwards should be submitted on or before April 30, 2012.
The household income and asset limits of the Scheme have been adjusted upwards across the board. The new limits are applicable to applications for subsidy for March 2012 onwards. The original limits still apply to subsidy payments from April 2011 to February 2012.
Application forms are available at Job Centres, the Headquarters and the WITS Division of the LD, Public Enquiry Service Centres of the Home Affairs Department and Social Security Field Units of the Social Welfare Department. Members of the public may also download the application form from the LD's homepage (www.labour.gov.hk).
