Guangdong and local troupe to perform Chiu Chow operas in April
**********************************************************

The locally renowned Sun Hon Kwong Chiu Chow Opera Troupe will collaborate with the Guangdong Jieyang Chiu Chow Opera Troupe for three performances in April, supported by an array of national class performers.

Chiu Chow opera is a distinguished artistic genre, and many of its traditional themes are about family and love. Typically, in the forthcoming performances, "A Double-crossing Scheme for Double Good Causes" is an intricate and complex story about the relationships between a father, his lover, his son and his daughter-in-law, while "Father and Sons Plucking the Laurels" tells of the love-hate relationships often found in traditional Chinese society.

The Guangdong Jieyang Chiu Chow Opera Troupe includes top performers as well as young artists from various theatre schools and performing companies, enabling the troupe to maintain its perpetual youthful energy. It has won many awards on the Mainland and undertaken various overseas tours, including to Singapore and Hong Kong, where it has won critical acclaim.
