Following is a transcript of remarks (English portion) by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, to the media after attending the RTHK Lunar New Year Celebration today (January 30):
Reporter: Mr So, why does it take so long for the Government to announce the result (of free TV licence applications)? What is the remaining work you are working on?
Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development: I just indicated that we have to process the applications in accordance with procedures. These applications and the result will have a profound impact on the industry, for which we need to look at it comprehensively. Once the Executive Council has a decision, we will let you know the result as soon as possible.
