Electronic Advance Application System for Post-secondary Programmes to be launched on February 9
*********************************************************

Starting from February 9, Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination and Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education candidates of the current year can lodge advance applications for locally accredited sub-degree and degree programmes not covered by the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) through the Electronic Advance Application System for Post-secondary Programmes (E-APP) developed by the Education Bureau (EDB).

With this one-stop Internet-based service, candidates only need to complete one application in applying for multiple programmes. Institutions will process E-APP applications and may give eligible candidates conditional offers before the announcement of public examination results.

For further information, please visit E-APP's website, www.eapp.gov.hk. A demo and a user manual are available online for reference.

In conjunction, the EDB will update the Information Portal for Accredited Post-secondary Programmes, or iPASS (www.ipass.gov.hk). Details of all locally accredited full-time non-JUPAS higher diploma, associate degree and degree programmes for the 2012-13 academic year, including tuition fees, entry requirements, accreditation and recognition by relevant professional bodies, and application and admission arrangements of programmes in 2012 can also be found at iPASS. E-APP users can make use of this most up to date and comprehensive information to facilitate their programme selection and application.

To help students and parents understand the functions and benefits of E-APP, the EDB will set up a booth at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council Education and Careers Expo to be held from February 9 to 12 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
