Land Registry launches new e-Memorial Form
******************************************

The Land Registry today (January 19) launched two new versions of its well-received e-Memorial Form. Both are now available for download free of charge from the registry's website (www.landreg.gov.hk).

The e-Memorial Form, first introduced in November 2007, is an electronic alternative to the conventional pre-printed form. To further improve efficiency and accuracy in completing the form, the new release includes an enhanced e-Memorial Form as well as a brand-new e-Memorial Form (Data Import), which supports data transfer directly from a computer worksheet.

A significant improvement provided by the enhanced e-Memorial Form is an auto-fill function. It enables users to retrieve property particulars from the Land Registry's computer system through the Internet for reference while they are filling in the memorial form.

For users who need to fill in a number of memorial forms with the same set of information, the e-Memorial Form (Data Import) will relieve them from repetitious and error-prone data entry processes. The data import function enables transfer of relevant information from a computer worksheet to multiple memorial forms in one go.

In addition, existing user-friendly features of the e-Memorial Form, such as built-in checking and selection lists, have been enhanced for greater user appeal.

The launch of the new e-Memorial Form represents another major step in the automation of the land registration process. The Land Registry will continue to enhance its e-services to customers and improve the efficiency and quality of land registration services.
