Cycling Information Centre - your guide for a safe and fun ride
***********************************************************

Looking for ideas on cycling routes? What do the signs on cycle tracks mean? What are the points to note for when you cycle on roads? From today (December 21) onwards, you may get this information from the Cycling Information Centre (CIC) webpage launched by the Transport Department.

The CIC (www.td.gov.hk/mini_site/cic/en/index.html) launched today is a pilot version. Through this one-stop information platform, you may get access to information on major cycle tracks, cycling grounds, bicycle parking sites, traffic signs and road markings for cyclists, traffic management measures on cycle tracks, and relevant laws and regulations, as well as information on cycling-related infrastructure projects and studies.

Cycling is a healthy recreational activity. To enjoy a safe and fun ride, it is essential to become familiar with safe cycling tips before you ride. At the CIC, you may find the dos and don'ts to bear in mind before cycling, while cycling and when braking, which are noteworthy to all cyclists.

To assist cyclists in planning their trips, links to the most up-to-date traffic advice on cycle tracks is also available at the CIC. The TD will also regularly update the contents of the CIC to keep cyclists abreast of the latest information related to cycling.
