Band and dance performance to deliver anti-drug message this Saturday (with photos)

     Members of the public are invited to join the anti-drug show "Band & Dance Peer Platform", to be held from 2pm to 5pm at Hong Kong Culture Centre Piazza A and B, Tsim Sha Tsui this Saturday (December 17).  Admission is free.

     The event, jointly organised by the Narcotics Division of the Security Bureau, the Action Committee Against Narcotics and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Drug InfoCentre and assisted by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG), aims to encourage young people to develop healthy interests and a positive lifestyle and help them stay away from drugs by providing them with a platform to showcase their talents, such as singing and dancing.

     The organisers have invited the popular local folk band Ketchup as guest performer. Twelve performing units from youth groups, non-governmental organisations, a Counselling Centre for Psychotropic Substance Abusers and a drug treatment and rehabilitation centre will promote a healthy lifestyle and anti-drug messages through a variety of performances.  They include the creative quintet Pendular from the HKFYG; the electronic music band Anything; the Christian band New Life from the Christian New Life Association; the all-girl hip pop jazz dancing group UnE'z from the Hong Kong Children and Youth Services; and the street dance group Free Style from the Caritas District Youth Outreaching Social Work Team - Southern.

     "Band & Dance Peer Platform" is supported by the North District and Tin Shui Wai Youth Outreaching Social Work Teams of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong, the Caritas District Youth Outreaching Social Work Team - Southern, the Hong Kong Children and Youth Services Tai Po District Youth Outreaching Social Work Team, the Caritas HUGS Centre and the Christian New Life Association.
